Getting the Most Out of Your Message

Every note that reaches our inbox is read by a person, and a little context helps us respond more usefully. If you are writing about a specific video or commentary piece, include its title or the page where you found it. If you think we got a fact wrong, tell us which claim you are questioning and, where possible, point to the primary source you are relying on, such as a court opinion, a statute or an official public record. Corrections matter to us, and clear, sourced feedback is the quickest way to get one made.

What we are glad to hear about

• Topic suggestions: questions about speech, assembly, press freedom or petitioning the government that you would like explained in plain language.
• Media literacy ideas: examples of misleading headlines, edited clips or viral claims you would like us to unpack.
• Classroom and community use: teachers, librarians and civic groups who want to use our explainers in discussions.
• Event tips: public forums, talks or civic gatherings in the DC area that fit our events coverage.

What we cannot do

Free Speech Vids is an independent commentary outlet, not a law firm or a government office. We cannot give legal advice about your personal situation, represent you in a dispute, or act on behalf of any agency. A note on respect

We welcome disagreement, including sharp criticism of our work. We ask only that messages stay civil and free of threats or harassment, the same standard we try to hold ourselves to in our commentary. Please allow some time for a reply, as we are a small team and give each message careful attention.
